MENDHAR, Oct 7: A young house wife was allegedly raped by an Army jawan at village Sagra in Mankote area of Mendhar last night.
A police spokesman said that 30-year-old Naseem Akhtar (name changed), resident of Sagra village lodged an FIR at Mendhar Police Station today alleging that one Haq Nawaz ( Army jawan), son of Mohd Zaman, resident of the same village forcibly entered her house late last evening and committed rape on her when she was alone and escaped. Haq Nawaz is deployed with 6 Engineers Regiment of Army and is presently posted in Kashmir. He had come on leave to his home.
The police registered case FIR No. 130/2015 under Section 376 RPC and started investigation. Haq Nawaz was absconding, the police said.
