RAMBAN, Mar7: A JCB operator was killed while another was injured due to fall while working over a bridge near the under construction railway tunnel in Sumber area of this district today, a police official said.
The deceased has been identified as Zahoor Ahmed, son of Mohammad Afzal, a resident of Ramsoo, while the injured was identified as Pardeep Kumar, son of Doulat Ram of District Kishtwar. Both were working with Hindustan Construction Company.
The injured was shifted to District Hospital Ramban and later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for specialised treatment.
After conducting autopsy, the body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under FIR Number 9/2021 under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased along with locals assembled at the accident site and held protest against the HCC.
“The deceased died due to non-availability of ambulance of HCC”, they alleged.
