JCC announces 2-day strike on Dec 14, 15

JAMMU, Nov 8: Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of  State Government employees today announced State wide two-day strike programme on December 14 and 15.
Addressing a joint press conference here today, senior JCC members Mohd Khursheed Alam, Abdul Qayoom Wani and Mohd Gafoor Dar said that State level session of the senior JCC members was held here last evening in which the future course of action was discussed and a consensus reached on the next agitational schedule. It was unanimously decided in three-hour long meeting that two day protest programme will be organized on December 14 and 15.
These leaders strongly condemned the attitude of the State Government and alleged that it has failed to honour its commitment. They said on the agreed issue regarding regularization of ad hoc, daily wage & consolidated workers, removal of pay anomalies, enhancement of  retirement age, budgetary support to PSUs etc, no action has been taken by the Government so far. It was just buying time and befooling the employees.
Khursheed Alam made it clear that despite several rounds of talks with the authorities in Government, the implementation of agreement is still awaited. He said the united platform of the JCC is compelled to intensify the agitational programme on December 14-15, 2012. Before two day strike, the JCC will organize district level protests/ demonstrations in phased manner at all the district headquarters, he maintained.
The JCC leaders issued appeal to all the Rs 4.5 lakh State employees including PSU workers, to up hold the banner of unity and collective struggle and to display full strength for the common cause of working class. They said NC- led Coalition   Government has proved to be anti-worker as it has always backed out from its promises and commitments.
Other senior members including  Kulwant Singh, Ganesh Khajuria, Dr Manzoor, Sayeda Ladakhi, Fayaz Andrabi, Amrik Singh, N A Beigh and N S Jamwal were also present.
