JAMMU, Apr 2: Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) and Dev Cricket Club (DCC) smashed their rivals and registered berths in the semifinals of the ongoing 1st SP Smart T20 Cup Cricket Tournament, being organized by chief organizer Vikas Raina and his team at MA Stadium, here.
In the first quarterfinal match played between JCC and Bhole Nath Cricket Club (BNCC), JCC won the toss and elected to bat first and made 160 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Deepak Dogra was the top scorer with 35 runs off 25 balls, studded with 4 delectable boundaries, while Jasvinder and Vivrant contributed 29 and 21 runs to the total respectively.
For BNCC side, Happy, Panku and Mannu scalped 2 wickets each.
In reply, BNCC failed to chase the target and bundled out at 135 runs for all out in 20 overs. Mannu played a splendid inning of 63 runs off 52 balls including seven balls towards the fence and 2 balls over the fence.
For JCC side, Rahil, Ritik and Deepak Dogra clinched 2 wickets each.
For overall performance, Deepak Dogra was declared as man of the match.
In the second quarterfinal match, DCC crushed NMCC Nagrota by 14 runs in a keenly contested match and sailed into semis.
Batting first, DCC set a target of 161 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
Kavi smashed some crispy shots and made 49 runs off 25 balls including 10 boundaries, while Shera and Bawa scored 23 and 22 runs respectively.
For NMCC side, Rahul was the pick-of-the-bowler with 3 wickets, while Abhishek scalped one wicket.
In reply, NMCC could not chase the target and made 147 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets.
Rahul was the top scorer with 41 runs, while Abhishek and Rahul Dutta chipped in 27 and 22 runs respectively.
For DCC side, Rahul Kumar scalped 3 wickets and Shera took 2 wickets.
Rahul Kumar was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant bowling performance.
The matches were officiated by Mintoo, Madan, Vikas, Bunty and Deepak.
