JAMMU, Jan 3: J&K employees Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) has decided to go for protest demonstration and dharna on January 8 in the winter capital city here.
Addressing a press conference here today, senior PCC member Abdul Qayoom Wani said that two day session of the working committee of the JCC was convened here today in which many members discussed the issues of the employees and discussed next strategy regarding agitation. The session discussed threadbare the anti-employee policy of the Government and steps taken by it to weaken the employees movement.
It was seriously felt that Government should withdraw immediately all the un-democratic steps against the employees. The session regretted that the frequent arrest of leaders and stoppage of pay of the employees on the path of struggle is unfortunate and the measures like ESMO, dies-non, no work no pay, should be withdrawn. It was unanimously decided during the session that JCC shall start a united and concerted struggle to get the agreement reached between the Govt and the JCC implemented. In a joint resolution passed by the members it was decided to launch a fresh struggle in support of employees’ demands.
Mr Wani said that as per unanimous decision, the JCC leadership resolved to hold protest demonstration on January 8 in Jammu and it will be followed by day long protest dharna. He alleged that demands of the employees including regularization, enhancement of retirement age of employees, removal of pay anomalies, enhancement of medical allowance, release of 6th Pay Commission arrears in favour of all the PSU workers etc. were still unresolved.
