JAMMU, Oct 7: Senior Joint Consultative Committee members from Jammu region have said that employees would stage demonstration against the State Government at all the district headquarters on October 10 and conduct ‘gherao’ of Civil Secretariat at Srinagar on October 15 to mark their protest.
Addressing a press conference here today, senior JCC member Mohd Gafoor Dar said as already announced by the JCC leadership in Kashmir, the employees under the banner of JCC would stage protest demonstration on October 10, 2012 at all the district headquarters in the region in support of their pending demands. He alleged that Government was adopting delaying tactics and seems to be in no mood to address the issues of the employees.
Mr Dar appealed the employees of all the departments to hold rallies/ demonstrations outside the offices of District Development Commissioners on the given day (Oct 10). They will submit memorandum to the Government seeking implementation of demands. He pointed out that employees are demanding release of arrears of 6th Pay Commission, regularization of daily rated/ consolidated/ ad hoc workers, removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre and enhancement of retirement age of employees.
It was further claimed by the JCC members here that a large number of employees from Jammu region will take part in October 15 programme of Secretariat ‘Gherao’ in Srinagar. Other JCC members Ganesh Khajuria and Kulwant Singh were also present.
Meanwhile, Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum in a meeting held today, decided to endorse the protest programme announced by JCC on Oct 10 and 15.
