J&K 19/2 against UP’s 324 runs in first innings

JAMMU, Nov 24: Jammu and Kashmir were 19/2 in reply to Uttar Pradesh’s 324 in their first innings at stumps on Day-1 of the ongoing Under-19 boys Cooch Behar Trophy at JKCA Hostel Ground, here today.
Opening batter Kamaksh Sharma was at the crease on 6 runs, while night watchman Nashant Kumar was unbeaten on brisk 12 runs off 8 balls, studded with 3 boundaries. Hitesh Kumar and Yasir Khan were the wicket takers from Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier, put into bat, Uttar Pradesh rode on brilliant half-centuries by the trio of Aarush Goyal, Yash Pradhan and Bhavy Goyal to score a good total of 324 runs in their first innings. Aarush scored 82 off 93 balls, studded with 9 fours and 3 sixes, while Yash contributed 75 off 83 balls with 11 boundaries and one six and Bhavy Goyal scored superb 57 runs. The batting trio showed stellar grit and tenacity to notch up their individual fifties and displayed sublimity, solidity and elegance during their knocks. Aditya Kumar Singh (33) and Shubham (30) were the other contributors.
For J&K, medium pacer Mudhasir Abdullah was the pick of the bowlers, who captured 3 important wickets by giving away 52 runs in his 16 overs, while Bismadh Singh and Dhruv Sharma took 2 wickets each. Nashant Kumar, Mousab Mohd Bhat and Achintya Raj Khajuria claimed one wicket each.
