JAMMU, Nov 5: A three day long J&K UT Archery Championship commenced at Greenfields Ground Gandhi Nagar, here today. The event is being organized by the Archery Association of J&K under the aegis of J&K Sports Council.
The chief guest on the occasion was SP South district Jammu, Shaheen Wahid while KD Bhagat DySP and Rajeev Sharma Member J&K Sports Council were the guests of honour. The chief guest lauded the efforts of J&K Sports Council and the Archery Association of J&K for organizing such a wonderful event for providing opportunities to the youth of J&K at a time especially when two para-archers of J&K have brought laurels to the country and the Union Territory by bagging medals at the International event.
Around 150 Archers from all over districts of J&K, J&K Police and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Katra are participating in the event. The Championship is being conducted in recurve, compound and Indian rounds in different age categories including U-9, Sub Junior, Youth and senior groups.
