SRINAGAR, Dec 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Arm Wrestling Championship, along with the Para Arm Wrestling Championship, will be held at the Indoor Stadium in Srinagar from January 11, 2025. The two-day event is expected to feature over 400 participants from across the Union Territory, making it a major sports spectacle.
Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar, the event organizer, announced that several prominent personalities would attend the championship, including Parvin Dabas, Chief Advisor of the People’s Arm Wrestling Federation of India (PAFWI), and Jhanjogi, Co-founder of Pro Panja and President of PAFWI.
Farooq Ahmed Dar, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Arm Wrestling Championship, emphasized that athletes from all 20 districts of the UT would compete in the event, which will include 10 categories across various age groups and weight classes. The event has garnered support from notable figures such as Showket Ahmed Narwar and Haji Nissar, and is expected to boost the growing popularity of arm wrestling in the region.
