J&K Athletes shine at the 34th National Strength Lifting C’ship

JAMMU, Jan 5: Athletes from Jammu & Kashmir delivered a historic performance at the 34th National Strength Lifting Championship held at Loharu, Haryana. Competing in various categories, J&K’s athletes earned several medals, showcasing their strength and dedication.
Aadesh Singh Thakur won Gold in the 105 kg category, while Rahil Rajput claimed Silver in the 85 kg Senior Class with a total lift of 595 kg. Vikrant Singh Jamwal set a national record in Bench Press, winning Gold in the 76 kg category with a lift of 285 kg. Other notable medallists included Raghav Sharma, Munish Kumar Chopra and Nikhil Kumar, who all earned Gold in their respective weight classes.
President of the J&K Strength Lifting Association, Vicky Mahajan and Working President MS Katoch praised the athletes’ commitment and highlighted J&K’s growing prominence in strength sports.
