JAMMU, Oct 29: The Speedball team from Jammu and Kashmir won 2nd place in the Speedball Nationals held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.
Maharashtra stood 1st , while Jammu and Kashmir clinched 2nd spot and the 3rd place went to Delhi.
In this Championship, 31 players of J&K participated in the event. The state team won 27 medals in the event.
The team was accompanied by Sunny Nanda, general secretary of J&K Sports Speedball Association as coach.
Dr Pawan Kotwal, patron of Speedball Association, SP Langer (chief advisor), VK Sharma (advisor), RM Tikku (Director events), V.K Gupta, vice president and Anil Nanda lauded the efforts of the State players forthis achievement.
In this competition, around 500 students from 16 units of Speedball Association of India participated.
The Gold medals went to Saksham Sharma, Pranay Gupta, Mansi Slathia, Manthan Pandoo, Paramjeet Singh, Aryan Kangotra, Ashutosh Singh, Janvi Sharma, Uditi Verma and Pratham Thappa, while the silver medals were claimed by Amandeep, Abid Wani, Raghu Singh, Gopi Krishan, Pallav Sharma, Dixeet Sharma and Samrat Ashok.
Bronze medals were claimed by Orja Sharma, Pranav Sharma, Aryaman Sharma, Ujwal Thakur, Lalit Sharma, Aashish Sharma, Vikas Dogra, Shivanshu Heer, Hyaan Sharma, Ajay Singh and Himanshu Sen.
