J&K Bank Academy wins opening match

JAMMU, July 26: J&K Bank Academy won the opening match of 2nd Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament, which began here today.
The opening match was played between Shaheen Blue and J&K Bank Academy, which was won by the latter by 04-01. From the J&K Bank Academy side, the first and second goals were scored by Ankit in 7th and 26th minutes, respectively while the third goal was scored by Rohit Kalsotra in 45th minute and fourth goal was scored by Gautam Mehra in 54th minute.
For Shaheen Blue, the only goal was scored by Vivek Pal Singh in 35th minute through penalty. During the game, Yellow Card was shown to Nahum of Shaheen Blue and Jonny of J&K Bank Academy for foul play.
Today’s match was officiated by Suresh Gupta, Rickey Kumar, Dil Bahadur and Rohit Kumar Gupta.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by chief guest, Nikhil Rasgotra (Deputy SP, Jammu West) while Kuldeep Singh (president, JKFA), SM Gill (Ex-MLC and Direct Member, JKFA), Raghbir Singh Choudhary (SHO Nawabad), Vijay Sharma (Incharge, Police Post, Canal Road) and Surinder Singh Bunty (vice president, JKFA) were also present.
The tournament is being organized by Rajesh Submria in the memory of late Master Vishal Heer (a football player), who died on October 15, 2013.
Tomorrow, the NGR will clash with Jammu Sports and Sainik Colony will lock horns with Shaheen FC.
