JAMMU, Jan 15: On the third and last day of the selection trials, 65 probables participated and J&K Bank selected 16 players for its Jammu Football Academy, here today.
The selected players include Shreyan Dev Singh, Ajay Singh, Ishaan Khanna, Sanjot Singh, Ankit Mehta, Abishek Chandan, Deewanshu Dogra, Rajan Singh, Aniket Jasrotia, Gurdeep Mehra, Nitin Kumar, Sunil Sayal, Lakshit Sharma, Shivam Gupta, Bhanu Pratap Singh and Vishab Sumbria.
The process of selection was exhaustive one in which the selection committee applied various parameters. Skill, strength, speed, ability to gauge the situations, game sense, agility, presence of mind and other allied abilities of the probables formed the core of criteria adopted by the Selection Committee which comprised of senior coach, Secretary, Incharge Jammu Academy, Coach Jammu Academy, Sports Officer and Vice Chairman of J&K Bank Sports Board.
It is notable that J & K Bank had recently completed the process of selection of players for its Kashmir Football Academy.
The players selected for Jammu Academy shall be attending coaching on day to day basis. They will be taught about various aspects and dynamics of the game and their raw talent will be nurtured and polished over a period of three years by experts.
They will be provided a platform to enhance their capabilities and realize and tap their talent to the potential not only through coaching but by participating in various matches and tournaments. During this period of three years they will be provided monthly stipend of Rs 1500, uniform and daily refreshment.
