J&K Bank customers receive insurance claims

JAMMU, Mar 5: J&K Bank President and Zonal Head Jammu (Central) O P Sharma today handed over two insurance claim cheques amounting to Rs 37 lakh and Rs 5 lakh from MetLife Insurance Company to claimants and legal heirs of two deceased persons.
The legal heirs of the Bank’s customers Kamlesh Choudhary and Dev Raj received two claim cheques in simple functions held at Kathua and Hiranagar Morh.
Speaking on the occasion, Zonal Head apprised the audience about the importance of insurance and assured timely services to policy holders.
Expressing gratitude to J&K Bank and MetLife, the recipients of the cheques said that the timely settlement of their claims was a much needed relief to them and their families.
Notably, Kamlesh Choudhary was insured under Met Sureksha Policy in the year 2008 and 2010 at the Bank’s business units at Bani and Parliwand, Kathua paying a small part of premium before she met with a tragic road accident. The claim for Rs 37 lakh was settled within a short period of two months.
While as Dev Raj had paid insurance premium of only Rs 50000 through the Bank’s B.U at Hiranagar Morh, before his death. His claim was settled in a fortnight and his legal heirs were paid insurance claim of Rs 5 lakh.
The Bank’s Cluster Head Kathua Suresh Kotwal, Regional Manager MetLife Arif Ahmad and other officers from the Bank and MetLife were also present on the occasions.
