SRINAGAR, Sept 12: J&K Bank Football Team one of the power houses of the State continued its excellent run in the State Annual Super League with an emphatic 2-0 win over JK Police and qualified for the final round.
The League which features 14 of the State’s best Departmental and Private Clubs witnessed four teams making their way into the final round which included Food & Supplies, JK Forest, Lones Star Kashmir FC and JK Bank, the 4th and final team to qualify for the League.
The team started its campaign with a goalless draw against Kashmir FC but soon gathered momentum with consecutive wins over JK SRTC, Arafat sports, Maharaja Sports and Jhelum Sports FC.
The momentum carried on as the team in its last match against JK Police dominated possession from the word go with attacking football from Rizwan and Rohit. The 2nd half started on the same note with Bank pressing from early on when Toufiq’s shot was saved by the rival goalkeeper. The persistent pressing was rewarded when Rohit pelted the ball into the top corner. Then Adnan netted another goal to help his team win by (2-0), thus resulting in their qualification.
The final round will see the best 4 teams pitted against each other with each team playing 3 matches each and the team with the most points will be crowned as the champion.
J&K Bank defeated Maharaja Sports Club today in its last league match before the beginning of the final round.
