J&K Bank Football Team drubs SAIL Bokaro by 2-0

JAMMU, Jan 23: The inauguration match of All India Super Cup Lucknow was played today at KD Babu Singh Stadium Lucknow in which J&K Bank Football Team defeated SAIL Bokaro by two goals to nil (2-0). Big crowd witnessed the match and the State Commissioner of Police was the chief guest on the occasion.
In the first half Bank Striker Aiman Rashid got the early breakthrough scoring on a brilliant pass by Prem in the 9th minute.
In the second half, Jhonny Kumar assisted Shahid to score second goal in the 80th minute. JK Bank dominated the proceedings of the entire match and held with maximum part of ball possession. Shahid Mushtaq for his magnificent play was adjudged the man of the match receiving cash award of Rs 5,000.
With this win J&K Bank Team confirmed their berth in the semifinals. ONGC, Air India, Deccan Pune and Kerala FC will play their matches tomorrow. JK Bank team participated in this tournament in absence of 7 top players who are representing J&K State in Santosh Trophy. In addition to that 14 players from J&K Bank Academy have been selected to represent State Junior Team for Dr BC Roy Trophy at Bilaspur.
It is pertinent to mention here, that earlier this year Bank Team lifted Shiekh Ul Alam Cup, Annual Super Division League and emerged runners-up in CRPF tournament.
