JAMMU, Oct 26: J&K Bank XI lifted the title of 1st Positive Kashmir Knockout Football Championship by defeating J&K SPDC XI, played at Synthetic Turf TRC, here today.
The final match started with a brisk note as both the teams tried hard to dominate each other. It was in the 5th minute of the match when J&K SPDC made a spectacular move and scored a fine goal through Hayat, followed by J&K Bank consolidated their position and within minutes they found an equalizer through Adanan (10th minute). In the 20th minute Immad of J&K SPDC scored 2nd goal for his team, while J&K Bank’s Aakif equalised it and thus the 1st half ended in a 2:2 draw.
In the 2nd half, J&K Bank clinched another goal in 55th minute of the match through Aakif and consolidated their position by scoring another goal in the 65th minute through Faisal thakur. However, J&K SPDC boys didn’t lose courage and made many counter attacks but could not find the net. In the 75th minute J&K Bank scored another goal through Prem and registered a win over their opponents with 5 goals to 2.
Divisional Commissioner Srinagar, PK Pole was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed prizes and mementoes among the players and officials.
It is pertinent to mention here that a cash prize of Rs 50 thousand were given to the runner-up team and Rs One lakh was awarded to the winning team besides trophies and mementoes.
Meanwhile, in the ongoing Khyber Milk Premier Football League-21, the match between SCFA and Iqbal Sports FC ended with a goalless draw. Sahil of Iqbal Sports FC was declared as man of the match.
