JAMMU, Dec 12: Jammu and Kashmir Women Cricket team delivered a stunning performance, crushing Mizoram by 223 runs in the ongoing Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy at 22 Yards, Salt Lake, Kolkata, today. Batting first, J&K posted a massive total of 353/6 in their 50 overs, with standout performances from skipper Jasia Akhtar, Rubia Syed and Chitra Singh Jamwal.
Jasia Akhtar led the charge with a brilliant 165 runs off 111 balls, including 20 fours and 8 sixes, anchoring the innings. Chitra Singh Jamwal played a solid hand, scoring 75 off 114 balls, while Rubia Syed blasted an unbeaten 71 off just 29 balls, peppering the boundary with 2 fours and 8 sixes. Despite early setbacks from openers Rudrakshi Chib (12) and Bawandeep Kaur (8), J&K’s middle order ensured a dominant total.
In reply, Mizoram was bundled out for just 130 runs. Felfel Pautu top-scored with 48, while Anita Lodhi contributed 27. For J&K, Mariya Noorain, Sandhya Sayal and Rudrakshi Chib claimed 3 wickets each, while Ananya Sharma picked up one. Jasia Akhtar was named player of the match for her exceptional century.
