J&K being promoted as major MICE, Golf tourism destination

NEW DELHI, Jan 31: With an aim to promote Jammu Kashmir as round the year destination for Golf tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) activities, Secretary Tourism Farooq A Shah held an interactive session with the country’s best names associated with the sector on the sidelines of SATTE the Asia’s biggest travel bazaar here today .
He highlighted the upgraded infrastructural facilities and services being offered for such activities in the state .He said that the state has some of the best venues such as SKICC ,Clubs at Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg which have the capacity to host national and international standard conferences and events ,similarly the Golf courses in Jammu and Srinagar are equipped for assuring best golfing experience.
The Secretary had a brainstorming session with the the organisations associated with Mice and Golf Tourism like Rajeev Kohli of creative travel ,Shayam Nagpal of International Exhibitions, Karishma Khana of Mice Talk, Anoop Nayar, Navin of Kandu travels, Punita Raju of Cox an kings, Chandarmansharmani of ICPB, Greentech foundation president, Rajan sehgal of IGTA a national body for promoting Golf and others .
The team from J&K included Special Secretary Tourism, M. H. Mir, Director Tourism Kashmir Mehmood A Shah, Director SKICC Mrs Yasmeen Khan, Dy Director Tourism Peerzada Zahoor, Manager Marketing SKICC Shahnawaz Shah, officers of Tourism Department and the presidents of various Travel Trade Associations.
