J&K bundles out MPCA for 159 runs in CK Nayudu Trophy

JAMMU, Oct 28: Speedsters Umar Nazir and Sahil Sharma and late strike by left-arm spinner Amir Aziz helped Jammu and Kashmir bundle out Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) for a modest total of 159 runs in a 4-day match of the CK Nayudu Cricket Trophy, which got underway at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar today. J&K were 86/4 in 42 overs when the stumps were drawn today.
Earlier, put into bat first, MPCA openers began cautiously and scored 40 runs in 12.6 overs, before Umar Nazir dismissed Rishabh Tiwari at his individual score of 13 runs. After an addition of 35 runs between AS Khan and AS Dane, Umar Nazir accounted for the dismissal of Khan at his individual score of 32 runs and the team’s total of 75 runs. Then, the wickets fell at regular intervals and the whole team collapsed at 159 runs. SS Jain (42) and AS Dane emerged top scorers with 42 and 35 runs to the total respectively. For J&K, Umar Nazir took 4 top order wickets, while Amir Nazir and Sahil Sharma bagged 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
J&K, in reply were 86/4, with Asif Khan (12) and Amir Sofi (2) at the crease when the stumps were drawn today. Opener Mir top scored 30 runs, while Pranav Gupta and Munir Ahmed contributed 19 and 17 runs to the total respectively. For MPCA, SR Mishra scalped 2 wickets, while AD Singh and AA Ali claimed one wicket each.
