J&K clinches 62nd National Roller Skating C’ship for 6th time

JAMMU, Dec 18: J&K made history at the 62nd National Roller Skating Championship held in Pondicherry by winning the Master’s National Champion title for the 6th time. The star-studded men’s roller hockey team, led by J&K Police officer and former Indian captain Rajesh Anand, dominated the competition with remarkable skill and coordination.
The gold medal-winning team included Rai Brinder Singh, Ankush Kohli, Arvin Singh, Vikram and Krish Gupta, all of whom played pivotal roles in securing the victory. Krish Gupta, one of India’s top roller hockey players, emerged as the top scorer of the championship. Goalkeepers Rajesh Anand and Gagan Singh were standout performers, showcasing their exceptional saving skills throughout the tournament.
All the master players from J&K are currently serving in various Government departments and were appointed under the sports quota. The achievement has been widely praised by senior members of J&K’s Roller Hockey clubs and the Roller Skating Association, who lauded the team’s performance as well as that of other participants.
