J&K Disabled Cricket Team wins opening match against Delhi

JAMMU, Aug 24: The Jammu & Kashmir Disabled Cricket Team secured a victory over the Delhi Disabled Cricket Team in the opening match of the North Zone Cricket Tournament for Disabled Cricketers. The tournament is being organized by the Disabled Cricket Council of India (DCCI), an approved body of the BCCI, in Haryana.
Delhi, batting first, scored 125 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Pankaj Dilli led the scoring with 44 runs, followed by Promod Kumar with 23 runs and Mohd Sadiq with 19 runs. From the bowling side, Majid and Wasim each took 2 wickets.
In response, the J&K Team chased down the target in 17.1 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Nikhil Manhas was the top scorer with 38 runs off 29 balls, Wasim Iqbal contributed 22 runs off 14 balls, and Istiaq Ahmad added 16 runs from 23 balls. Pankaj Dilli took 2 wickets for Delhi, while Mohd. Sadiq, Ajay Kumar, and Rajeev Kala each took 1 wicket.
Majid was named Man of the Match for his all-around performance.
Tomorrow, the J&K Disabled Cricket Team will face Himachal Pradesh in their second league match. The tournament features six teams, including J&K, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana.
