J&K Divyang Cricket team beats MP by 40 runs

JAMMU, Jan 28: The J&K Divyang Cricket Team secured a dominant 40-run victory over Madhya Pradesh in the inaugural match of the Late Shree Deviram Chaudhary Memorial Divyang Cricket Tournament held at JB Cricket Ground, Agra.
Opting to bat first, J&K set a target of 143/7 in 20 overs. Rahul Sharma led the charge with a steady 36 runs, while Aaqib Malik’s explosive 27 off 17 balls provided much-needed momentum. Waseem Ahmad Bakshi contributed a crucial unbeaten 15, with Muddasir Gull adding 18 runs. Madhya Pradesh’s Rambaran Yadav claimed 3 wickets by giving 26 runs in a solid bowling effort.
In response, Madhya Pradesh was restricted to 103 runs in 17 overs, falling short by 40 runs. Waseem Ahmad Bakshi was the star with the ball, taking 2 wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs. Ajeet Raj and Pritam also took two wickets each, while excellent fielding efforts, including Ayaz Fani’s direct-hit run-out, sealed the win.
Bakshi’s all-round performance earned him the Man of the Match award. This victory reflects the talent and determination of the J&K team in this prestigious tournament.
