JAMMU, Oct 22: Jammu and Kashmir State Wushu team remained 2nd runners-up in the 27th Senior National Wushu Championship held at Shillong recently.
It is for 3rd consecutive year, J&K remained 2nd runners-up in the Senior National Wushu Championship.
Services Selection Board and All India Police remained winner and runners-up in the Championship respectively.
The J&K Wushu team secured 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in the Championship, while 10 players have qualified for the National Games to be held at Goa in 2019.
Surya Bhanu Partap Singh and Rajinder Singh, both World Medallists secured gold medals in the championships, while as Haqeek Ahmed,Chander Dev Singh and Abhishek Singh Jamwal secured silver medals in the Championship.
It is pertinent to mention here that during the year 2018, Wushu Association secured first ever bronze medal in Asian Games, silver medal in the Junior World Wushu Championship and 2 bronze medals in the World Wushu Championship at Russia. The office bearers of Wushu Association lauded the efforts of the players and their coach for this achievement.
