J&K excels at 68th NSG with Sabrena’s Gold, Eknoor’s Silver in Fencing

JAMMU, Nov 14: In an impressive display of skill and determination, Jammu and Kashmir’s young fencers Sabrena Choudhary and Eknoor Kaur secured gold and silver medals in the U-14 girls’ Sabre event at the 68th National School Games.
Sabrena topped the podium, while Eknoor took home the silver, marking a significant achievement for J&K in the competition. Gaurika from DAV and Navya of Haryana earned the bronze.
The event, which is part of the National School Games hosted by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports and the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), is taking place at the University of Jammu’s Gymnasium Hall.
In other results, Manipur clinched the gold in the U-14 Girls Epee team event, with Telangana earning silver. Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh secured the bronze. In the U-14 Boys Foil event, Haryana’s Vivek Kumar won gold, while silver went to Devesh, and the bronze medals were awarded to Shubham Agarwal and Asher SA.
J&K’s medal tally now stands at four, with two gold and two silver medals. The medals were presented by Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General of Youth Services and Sports, at a ceremony attended by various dignitaries.
