JAMMU, Apr 1: Gymnasts of Jammu and Kashmir have made us proud by winning two silver and two bronze medals in the recently concluded 16th National Aerobic Gymnastics Championship at Bengaluru.
The J&K team comprising Manvinder Singh, Jaskaran, Kamal Chib, Mayank Jain, Honey Mehra, Parul Mehra and Inderdeep won first Silver in the Senior Aerobic category of the Championship whereas team of Maharashtra won Gold and West Bengal scored Bronze.
In the Mixed pair event of senior category Gourav Chettri and Yaadavi Mahajan won bronze for J&K. The Gold and Silver in this event was won by the pairs of Maharshtra and Gujarat. In Juniors category, Laksh Mahajan of J&K won Silver in the individual event. Another Bronze medal was won by J&K Gymnasts in the Trio event comprising Vikas Gupta, Suryansh Sharma & Laksh Mahajan where as Gold and Silver were won by Maharashtra and West Bengal, respectively.
These medal winners are trainee at Sports Council’s Gymnastics Academy at MA Stadium, Jammu under the expert guidance of Sports Council coaches.
Vice-president, Gymnastics Federation of India and president Gymnastics Association of J&K Kiran Wattal and Ravinder Singh (secretary of the Association) congratulated the Gymnasts for winning medals.
