JAMMU, Oct 1: To participate in the 2nd Junior Women’s National Hockey Championship to be held at Sonipat in Haryana, the 18-member J&K team left for the venue today.
According to a handout issued here the team is being sponsored by J&K State Sports Council for the Championship to be organized by Hockey India.
Track suits and uniforms were distributed among the players at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, Jammu before their departure. Those present on the occasion were Inderpal Singh, Jaswant Singh and GS Bakshi.
The team included Sita Sharma, Rubina Kousar, Bharkha Sharma, Parneet Kour, Vandana Sharma, Meenakshi Khajuria, Aiena Sharma, Urvashi Sharma, Ashina Khatoon, Ashwariya Sharma, Anjali, Neetu Sharma, Taranum Jamwal, Taniya Mahajan, Gorgi Chourasia, Rashneet Kour, Pooja Devi and Aarushi Bali.
Dalbir Mehta and Sarla Bakshi are accompanying the team as coach and manager respectively.
