J&K Junior Taekwondo team wins two bronze medals at National C’ship

JAMMU, July 14: Jammu and Kashmir Junior Taekwondo team has brought laurels by winning two bronze medals in the 40th Junior National Taekwondo Championship held at Shimoga, Karnataka.
The 40th Junior National Taekwondo Championships was held at Shimoga, Karnataka between July 7 to 9.
The Jammu and Kashmir Junior Taekwondo team was led by Atul Pangotra as chief coach. The Championship was organized by Karnataka Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI).
Suryansh Victor Sharma and Khalida Jabeen secured bronze medals under 73 kg and 46 kg weight category, respectively. While Soham Sharma, Madhvi Chib and Vishwas Sudan lost in the quarter finals.
The statement said that prior to the event, J&K Sports Council organized a week based training camp at MA Stadium Jammu under Coach Atul Pangotra. He was accompanied by Rajinder Singh (Coach), Burhan Khan (Coach), Mukesh Okheda (Manager Male Team) and Roohi Gupta (Manager Female Team).
Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association (JKTA), President, Rajesh Pangotra and General Secretary, Ramesh Chander Sharma appreciated the medalists for achieving such great feats and Nuzhat Gull, Secretary J&K Sports Council for financial and logistical support throughout the camp and championship.
