J&K Junior Wushu team reaches Coimbatore for 23rd National C’ship

JAMMU, July 26: The 45-member J&K Junior Wushu team has reached Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu for the 23rd Junior National Wushu Championship, set to take place at KPR College of Engineering and Technology from July 26 to 31. The team was screened by the Divisional Sports Officer Jammu in accordance with J&K Sports Council norms and had also completed a 15-day coaching camp sanctioned by the Council. In the previous championship held in Patna, the J&K team achieved an impressive overall third place in the medal tally.
The initial weigh-in and draw of lots are scheduled for July 26, followed by the opening ceremony and the commencement of the competition on July 27. Appu Jamwal and Kanav are accompanying the team as coaches, aiming to lead them to another successful performance.
Vijay Saraf, President of the Wushu Association of J&K, General Secretary Bhavneet, and other office bearers have conveyed their best wishes to the team. Kuldeep Handoo, a Dronacharya Awardee lauded the J&K Sports Council for their support in clearing the team and providing essential backing. The team is poised to showcase their talent and strive for excellence in the national arena.
