JAMMU, Jan 12: Jammu and Kashmir Kabaddi teams left for 62nd Senior National Kabaddi Championship to be held at Trichengode, Tamil Nadu from January 14 to 18.
The teams were selected in senior boys and girls sections by Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association and duly screened by J&K State Sports Council.
The teams were flagged off by President of Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association Anil Gupta in presence of Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, general secretary, Anil Modi, press secretary, Surinder Mohan Gupta, joint secretary, Dinesh Gupta, secretary, Jammu District Kabaddi Association, Jasbir Singh and members of selection committee including Ajay Gupta, Rakesh Sharma, Sangram Singh and Manik Sharma. J&K Police coach, Sanjeet Kumar, Khazar Mohammad, Kabaddi Instructor and Ankush Gupta, coach J&K State Sports Council were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Anil Gupta along with other dignitaries distributed sports kits among the players. Gupta also announced that if the State teams will secure any top three ranks, they will be suitably awarded with cash prizes individually vis-à-vis dinner would be hosted with their family members also.
Boys team: Mohinder Singh (Captain), Harpreet Singh (Vice-Captain), Amandeep Singh, Aashiq Hussain Khan (Baramulla), Tajamal Majid Dar (Baramulla), Tazeem Ahmed Khan (Poonch), Manmeet Singh, Aman Singh, Rattan Singh (J&K Police Department), Hilal Ahmed Malla (Kulgam), Zaber Hussain (Kathua) and Mohammad Ishaq Pala (Anantnag).
Girls team: Monika Verma (Captain), Ayushi Ujjwal (Vice-Captain), Sanna Sharma, Samreen Kour, Aaiza Nabi, Neha Badyal (Kathua), Sureshta Devi (Kathua), Rabia Sarfraz (Poonch), Sobia Kouser (Poonch), Nahida Nabi (Baramulla), Ishu Bakshi and Prinka Tikku.
