J&K loses to Haryana by 44 runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy

JAMMU, Mar 6: After a splendid show in Ranji Trophy this season, the poor run of J&K team continued in Vijay Hazare Trophy as they lost to Haryana by 44 runs in a rain-curtailed 5th and the last match of the Tournament at Jamia Milia cricket ground in Delhi today.
Batting first, Haryana scored a fighting total of 152 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Rahul Dewan (45), N Saini (42) and S Rana (21) were the main contributors. For J&K, skipper Parvez Rasool was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 3 important wickets by conceding 34 runs in his 5 overs, while Ramdayal claimed one wicket by giving away 32 runs in 4 overs.
In reply, J&K collapsed at 108 runs to lose the match by 44 runs. Waseem Raza top scored with 33 runs, while Imran Haroon contributed 19 runs to the total. YS Chahal took 3 wickets, while Joginder Sharma and H V Patel bagged 2 wickets each and one wicket each was shared by MM Sharma, KR Hooda and Rahul Dewan.
Jammu and Kashmir was blanked in the Tournament with regard to points tally as they lost all the five matches without securing any point.
