JAMMU, Oct 27: The third edition of the J&K Open Golf Tournament 2024 concluded here today, further establishing Jammu as a premier destination for golf and tourism. Organized by the Directorate of Tourism Jammu in collaboration with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and Jammu Tawi Golf Course, this year’s tournament attracted an impressive 126 golfers from India and six other countries.
The final day featured a lively Pro-Am event, fostering camaraderie between amateur and professional golfers. The winning team, led by professional Shankar Das and comprising amateurs Pawan Parihar, Col. Ramesh and Aijaz Qaiser, received their awards from Shailendra Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Agriculture & Forest Department, along with other dignitaries, including ADGP Garib Dass, Director Tourism Vivekanand Rai, Joint Director Tourism Sunaina Sharma Mehta and Secretary of Jammu Tawi Golf Course, Manav Gupta.
Inaugurated by Secretary Tourism Yasha Mudgal, the tournament was enriched by cultural elements, including a Dogra Food Festival, art and craft exhibitions, and guided heritage tours, emphasizing Jammu’s diverse appeal.
