J&K players fail to prove worth, remain medal-less on Day-4

*Kerala, TN among top contenders

JAMMU, Jan 9: Jammu and Kashmir players failed to prove their worth and remained medal-less in the Junior and Master Equipped categories on the fourth day of the ongoing National Power Lifting Championship, being organized by J&K Sports Power Lifting Association at Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar here.
However, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are among the top contenders in both men and women categories and would be seen vying for the coveted trophy of the five-day long National Power Lifting Championship tomorrow.
In Women Junior Equipped category, M Rajeshwari from Tamil Nadu, Padma Lohor from Chandigarh and Aarati Salvi from Maharashtra emerged winners in 43 kg category, in 47 kg category, Bijlee Bag from Chandigarh, Kajol Gorav from Maharashtra and N Murugavalli from Puducherry emerged winners, in 52 kg category, Sumi George from Kerala, Aneesha from Kerala and M Bhagya Lakshmi from Andhra Pradesh emerged winners, in 57 kg category, P Viji from Tamil Nadu, Aswini Suresh T from Kerala and Ummay Salma Sultana from Assam emerged winners, in 63 kg category, Bithika Mondal from West Bengal, R Chandra from Tamil Nadu and Sabina Yesmen from Assam emerged winners, in 72 kg category, A Kadheja Begum from Tamil Nadu, Suprita from Tamil Nadu and Rakshi Fadikar from West Bengal emerged winners, in 84 kg category, D Anusha Goud from Andhra Pradesh, Anju Murali from Kerala and Namrata from Maharashtra emerged winners and in 84 plus category, Bhavya NP from Kerala, Sathi Mukherjee from Madhya Pradesh and Mousumi Borah from Assam emerged winners.
In Men Junior Equipped category, Binay Banerjee from Jharkhand, K Cheeranjibi from Chandigarh and Rajesh Kumar from Uttar Pradesh emerged winners, in 53 kg category, in 59 kg category, V Vignesh Kumar from Tamil Nadu, Naveen Kumar from New Delhi and Sachin Dahiya from Haryana emerged winners, in 66 kg category, Mohammad Tahir from Uttarakhand, Sunil Konewadkae P from Maharashtra and Shailandra Sevethiya from Madhya Pradesh emerged winners, in 74 kg category, TJ Varghese Ronald from Kerala, Amit Kumar from Haryana and Dilshad Hussain from Uttarakhand emerged winners, in 83 kg category, Jayadeep Krishna PC from Kerala, Kiran KP from Kerala and Kuldeep Dagar from New Delhi emerged winners and in 93 kg category, P Vijay from Tamil Nadu, V Sameer Rohilla from IPF and Vijay Singh from Haryana emerged winners.
In Women Master-I Equipped category, Suneeta Gurjar from Gujarat and Rakshi Sharma from Assam emerged winners in 63 and 72 kg categories respectively.
In Men Master-I Equipped category, SV Shafi from Tamil Nadu, Anil Kumar from Kerala and Jagadeesh from Karnataka emerged winners in 59 kg category, in 66 kg category, EC Rajan from Kerala, Shiv Prasad from Madhya Pradesh and B Revanna from Karnataka emerged winners, in 74 kg category, SL Binu from Kerala, Muhammad Shafi from Kerala and BH Manjunath from Karnataka emerged winners, in 83 kg category, Santosh Burte from Maharashtra, Sanjeev KS from Kerala and V Swaminathan from Tamil Nadu emerged winners and in 93 kg category, Sunil M Absul from Maharashtra, Prabir Ghosh from West Bengal and Ramachandran TK from Kerala emerged winners.
In Women Master-II equipped category, Vijaya Babaji Nar from Maharashtra emerged winner in 84 kg category.
In Men Master-II equipped category, Satish M Patade from Maharashtra, Rajendra Shrivas from Madhya Pradesh and Babu V from Kerala emerged winners in 59 kg category, in 66 kg category, Arumugham T from Kerala and R Kuthalingam from Tamil Nadu emerged winners, in 74 kg category, Prakash Shivtarkar from Maharashtra, Chandrangathan KN from Kerala and Gurinder Singh from Chandigarh emerged winners, in 83 kg category, N Ramrao from Tamil Nadu, Nanjunde Gowda from Karnataka and Suresh Dhulad from Maharashtra emerged winners and in 93 kg category, TK Vikas from Kerala, Parthasarathi Paul from Madhya Pradesh and T Vara Prasad from Andhra Pradesh emerged winners.
In Men Master-III equipped category, DM Bhoir from Maharashtra, A Mohana Sundaram from Tamil Nadu and Veerabhadrappa from Karnataka emerged winners in 59 kg category, in 66 kg category, C Premachandran from Kerala emerged winner, in 74 kg category, K Prakash Karanth from Karnataka, JC Rathor from Madhya Pradesh and Tom Louis from Tamil Nadu emerged winners, in 83 kg category, Mujeeb Ullah Khan N from Madhya Pradesh and K Harish Kumar from Karnataka emerged winners and in 93 kg category, M Maheshwaraiah from Karnataka and CAN Murty from Madhya Pradesh emerged winners.
The matches were officiated by Peter Throne, Vice President, International Blind Sports Federation and former president, United States Power Lifting Federation. Rajan Jain, general secretary of J&K Sports Power Lifting Association was also present on the occasion.
