J&K players shine at IMF North Zone Sport Climbing competition

JAMMU, Dec 2: J&K climbers brought pride to the Union Territory by securing seven medals, including one Gold, three Silver and three Bronze, at the IMF North Zone Sport Climbing Competition held at the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) in New Delhi from November 29 to December 1.
Shivani Charak was the top performer, winning a Gold medal in Lead Climbing and two Silver medals in Speed Climbing and Bouldering in the Women’s category. Siraj ud Din, a promising new talent from Pulwama, claimed a Silver medal in Lead Climbing in the Sub-Junior Boys category. Ayaana Bhagat bagged a Bronze in Speed Climbing in the Sub-Junior Girls category, while Kashish Bharti secured a Bronze in Boys’ Speed Climbing.
Arun Deep Singh, a reigning North Zone champion, won a Bronze in Speed Climbing in the Men’s category but was left disappointed after slipping in both the Lead Climbing final and Speed Climbing semi-finals, finishing fourth and third, respectively. All J&K medallists were selected for the North Zone team for the upcoming National Sport Climbing Championship.
