J&K players win 4 medals in Strength Lifting Championship

JAMMU, Feb 22: J&K players have won 2 Gold and 2 Silver medals in 20th Senior, Junior, Master Men Handicap National Strength Lifting Championship which was held at Hawrah recently.
The Gold was won by Moin Akhtar in 68 Wt Class while the other Gold was won by Bhanu Dev Singh Sambyal in 85 Wt class in Strength Lifting and Bronze in incline bench press.
One Bronze was won by Raman Sharma, in 68 Wt class in Master Men.
The winners were facilitated by the J&K Strength Lifting Association Headed by Vicky Mahajan, president of the association.
He praised the players on winning the medals and assured to give all possible help to promote this game in the every district of the State.
M S Katoch, working president of the association and vice president of the International Strength Lifting Federation assured to help the players and said that an International event will also be organized this year at Bangladesh.
The association also decided to organize the National Championship in the year 2016. The function was chaired by Narain Singh President of Rajput Sabha.
Others present on the occasion included Pavitar Singh (retd Judge), Puran Dev Singh Kamal Kumar Singh.
