JAMMU, Apr 29: J&K UT Powerlifting shined in the Classic National Powerlifting Championship, recently concluded at Alleppy Kerala by securing 10 medals including two Gold and six Silver medals in various categories including Sub Junior, Junior, Senior and Master Men and Women.
Owais Choudhary won Gold medal in Sub-Junior 93kg category and create a national record in ‘Squat’ by lifting 210 kg, while Sapna Jain won Gold medal in Master-I 47 kg category and Sandeep Singh won Silver medal in Senior 83 kg category, besides Amandeep Bassan won Silver medal in Senior 93 kg category, whereas Amita Devi won Silver medal in Senior 57 kg category and Ruby Sharma clinched Silver medal in Senior 84 kg.
Adila Shafi secured Silver medal in Junior 63 kg category, while Samreen Kour won Silver medal in Junior 76 kg category and Vikramdeep won Bronze medal in Senior 105 kg category and Roshan Lal Sharma bagged Bronze medal in Senior 120 kg category, besides Vickramjeet Singh break previous record and create new national record both in ‘Squat and Bench Press’ events by lifting 335 kg and 191 kg in Senior and plus 120 kg categories respectively.
The team was honoured by the officials of the All J&K UT Powerlifting Association and lauded the efforts of the team for this achievement.
