J&K shines at 20th National ITF Taekwondo C’ship

JAMMU, Jan 5: Jammu and Kashmir secured the 1st runner-up position at the 20th National ITF Taekwondo Championship held in Bardoli, Surat, Gujarat. The 37-member J&K team, including 17 girls clinched 29 Gold medals, trailing only Gujarat, which topped the medal tally with 33 Golds.
The Gold medalists from J&K included Geetansh Thakur, Raju, Ayush Mahajan, Simran, Jiya Choudhary, Himadri Rana, Adhya Gupta, Ankit Kumar, Samreen Fatima, Suhana Gupta, and others. The Silver medals went to Raghavi Choudhary, Daksh Atri, Jahanavi, and Shourya Sharma, while Bronze medals were won by Namika Mahajan, Pavneet Kour and Ayaan Tickoo.
The team was coached by Sachin Kumar, with Geetansh Thakur as the Technical Head. AJKTA President, Mukesh Thakur appreciated the athletes.
