JAMMU, Jan 25: Jammu and Kashmir Shooting Team consisting of 10 players and two officials will be leaving tomorrow for Thiruvanthapuram (Kerala) for participation in the 35th National Games being held at Kerala from January 31 to Feb 14, 2015.
At present the players are undergoing intensive training and coaching under the able guidance of Rajesh Virdhy, Shooting Coach. The team was screened today by the Screening Committee of J&K State Sports Council.
Dilbag Singh, Additional Director General of Police, who is also president of J&K Rifle Association, has been visiting the venue of the coaching camp, which has served as an incentive to the players.
The team was today given a rousing reception by Ajit Kumar Sahu, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, at the Shooting range. Also present on the occasion were Prof (Dr) Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary General, J&K Olympic Association and Chairman, Affiliation Committee Indian Olympic Association, Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, senior vice-president, JKRA, Abdul Qayoom, Chief Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council and others.
