J&K Shotokan Karate team excels

JAMMU, Jan 22: Jammu and Kashmir Universal Shotokan Karate team excelled in the recently concluded 1st All India Universal Shotokan Karate-Do National Championship held at Bachat Bhawan, Baijnath in Himachal Pradesh.
J&K team won 7 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals in the Championship.
Satvik Tutoo, Ajay Sharma, Manpreet Kour, Akshay Kumar, Rajat Dogra, Aadil Mehmood and Aashish Sharma won gold medals, while Bhuvam Vasudev, Lucky Bawa, Nachiketa Sharma, Vikas Kumar and Amar Singh bagged silver medals and the bronze medals went to Vishal Kumar, Vtsal Safaya, J Satish and Vikas Singh Bhau.
Shruti Tutoo was the team coach, while Sanjay Kumar Tutoo, 5th dan black belt was the team manager.
Over 300 karatekas drawn from around 15 States of the County participated in the Championship.
