SRINAGAR, Jan 4: After conducting State championships and selection trials successfully, the J&K squad for the 29th Senior National Baseball Championship was selected.
The squad was selected by the screening committee of J&K State Sports Council under the chairmanship of Mushtaq Ahmad, Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir besides two members of the committee Bilquis Mir and Fayaz Ahmad Mir were also present.
Fida Hussain Fidvi, general secretary of J&K Baseball Association said that the State contingent comprising 32 players of both men and women teams and 4 officials selected for the said tour will represent the State at the PJL Nehru Stadium, Margao, Goa under the banner of J&K State Sports Council from January 12 to 16.
Fidvi said that the players for J&K were selected through a screening committee conducted by J&K State Sports Council in both the men and women’s category. The players selected are drawn from both the province/ regions of the State.
The said championship is being organized by the Goa Baseball Association under the auspices of Amateur Baseball Federation of India, Fidvi added.
