J&K State Karate Championship concludes

JAMMU, Dec 17: The two days long J&K State Karate Championship, organized by Amateur Karate-Do Association of Jammu and Kashmir, recognized by J&K State Sports Council, concluded at MA Stadium, here today.
The Association is affiliated to Karate Association of India (KAI) and recognized by Govt. of India (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports).
Over 300 participants from different districts took part in the Championship and the participating districts included Jammu, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Anantnag and Shopian.
The bouts for sub junior were conducted on first day and those of cadet, junior & senior were conducted on day two.
Javaid A Shah, Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, was the chief guest of the Closing Ceremony/ Medal Distribution Function, while Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary, J&K State Sports Council was the guest of honour.
The tournament was conducted as per the rules and regulations of WKF/ KAI and under the technical supervision of Shihan Rajneesh Choudhary Refree & Judge “A” (AKF), Refree Commission Member (KAI) from New Delhi.
The other officials and coaches who conducted the bouts were Amit Sangra (III Dan Black Belt), Inspector J&K Police; Umesh Rekhi; Suraj Prakash; Rinku Sharma; Charan Singh; Rajesh Banal; Mujahid Mir, Dr. Gulam Mustafa Mir, Ghulam Nabi Dar, Abdul Hamid, Raja Shabahat Iftikhar, Gopal, Anil, Tushar Jandial, Bilal Javaid, Ashwani Kumar, Anup Singh, Deepika Chauahan and Deepa Sharma.
The votes of thanks was presented by Ambedkar Gupta, president, AKAJK, Joint Secretary, Karate Association of India (KAI).
The gold medal winners in various categories included Abhishek Sharma, Mohd Muslim Khan, Bhuvam Vasudev, Gourish Jamwal, Sudanshu Gujral, Akhiz Khurshid, Palvi Sharma, Zara Bilal, Asia Begum, Azmat Bibi, Kanveer Ragortra, Nikhil Rajput, Bilal Javaid, Sourav Mehra, Fawad Fayaz, Gursharan, Ashwani Kumar, Yuvraj Singh, Sumit Sharma, Rajan Khajuria, Ajay Gill, Anchal Kumar, Misba Javaid Mir, Deepa Sharma, Azra Khatoon and Sakshi Sharma.
