JAMMU, Aug 17: Aryans Group of Colleges has got the approval for additional 60 seats each in B Tech and Diploma in Civil Engineering. The regulatory body AICTE, MHRD New Delhi and State Government has given node to this effect. The students of Jammu and Kashmir would be major beneficiaries of this development as 95 percent students in Civil Engineering in Aryans are from this State.
This was informed by Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, while addressing a press conference, here today.
On the occasion, he also launched toll free helpline number 1800-30000-388 for students who are interested in admissions.
Dr Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group of Colleges, Punika Mahajan, Academics Coordinator and Shashi Kiran, Media Coordinator were also present on the occassion.
Dr Kataria claimed that JK students have already earned name and fame in Aryans. “Kashmiri lad Shawkat Ahmad has scored 4th position in PTU. Four Kashmiri girls including Rumaisa, Sadiya, Yusra and Zeenat were honoured by Chief Minister of Punjab for developing Aryans Android App. Similarly Life Saving Glove developed by four Aryans Engineering JK students has got the appreciation from various circles, including Fortis Hospital,” he said.
Dr Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group of Colleges, said that apart from Civil, Aryans College of Engineering also has Mechanical, CSE, ECE, EEE and EE branches in B Tech. On other side, in Polytechnic Diploma, Mechanical, Electrical and Computer branches are also there.
She further said that most of the students from Jammu & Kashmir opt for Civil Engineering course only may be because of the increasing demand of Civil Engineers in the State. She added that after Civil, Mechanical and Electrical are next two branches which are in demand.
It is to be mentioned that in last 7 years, Aryans has emerged as the first choice of JK students. Around 700 students are already studying in Aryans while more than 500 students have taken admission for 2014-15 batch till now.
