J&K Taekwondo team wins 3rd Runners-up trophy in National C’ship

JAMMU, July 4: In a major achievement, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Taekwondo Association team has won 3rd Runners up trophy in the India Open Taekwondo Championship held at Wild Life Forest Department Manali, Himachal Pradesh.
There were about 180 students from 11 States who took part in this event wherein a 13 member team of the J&K led by Master Anil Nanda (Hall of Fame Award) who was also the chief technical director and Ronika Rathore (Coach).
As J & K Taekwondo Team came on 3rd spot, Chandigarh got the 1st place in the tournament and Maharashtra came on 2nd place. The J&K team performed exceptionally well by winning 12 gold medals in speed kicking, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals. During facilitation programme, Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister, J&K also applauded the team on their outstanding performance and expressed his commitment to support the promotion of Taekwondo in future championships.
The players who won medals are Bijoy Nanda Speed Kicking Gold Fight Silver, Kuvam Speed Kicking Gold Fight Silver, Vipul Mina Speed Kicking Gold Fight Silver, Shivank Hansa Speed Kicking Gold Fight Silver, Vansh Tagotra Speed Kicking Gold Fight Gold, Shiraj Hansa Speed Kicking Gold Fight Bronze, Anaya Speed Kicking Gold Fight Gold, Shaista Maryam Speed Kicking Gold Fight Gold, Rajvir Singh Slathia Speed Kicking Gold Fight Gold, Adhi Raj Slathia Speed Kicking Bronze Fight Gold and Satnam Mahali Speed Kicking Gold Fight Silver.
