JAMMU, Nov 28: J&K Wrestling team selected by J&K Wrestling Association has left to participate in the 63rd Men Free Style, Greco Roman Style and 21st Women Senior National Wrestling Championship, which is going to be held at Nadini Nagar Sports Complex, Nawabganj, Gonda, Uttar Pradesh from November 29 to December 2.
The screening of the team comprising of 26 players was conducted at Bajrangi Akhara.
The players selected include Jarnail Singh (57 kg), Rohit Singh (61 kg), Sunny Sharma (65 kg), Shushan Mehra (70 kg), Munir Ahmed (74 kg), Pankaj Kumar (79 kg), Rajesh Kumar (86 kg), Bahadur Khan (92 kg), Nisar Ahmed (97 kg), Salinder Singh (125 kg), Rajinder Singh (55 kg), Vicku Sharma (60 kg), Sunil Singh (63 kg), Sukhvinder Singh (67 kg), Riyaz Hussain (73 kg), Pawan Kumar (77 kg), Nadeem Ahmed (82 kg), Roshan Sharma (87 kg), Ishtaq Ahmed (97 kg), Diler Khan (130 kg), Reena Jasrotia (50 kg), Renu (53 kg), Drishti Pawan Sharma (55 kg), Nidhi (62 kg), Smile Jasrotia (59 kg) and Kusum Rani (68 kg).
Ravinder Sharma has been deputed as Technical Official with the team and Om Parkash as Coach.
The team was given send off by Pardeep Sharma, President Bajrangi Akhara, Jammu, while Ajay Vaid General Secretary, J&K Wrestling Association, Dheeraj Sharma, Swarn Lai, Ravi Kumar, Om Parkash, Mohammad Sadiq, Jai Bharat and other members of Association were also present.
On the occasion, the wrestlers were informed that they will be rewarded suitably if they bring laurels to the J&K State by winning medals.
