J&K team secures 7 bronze medals in 2nd National Gatka C’ship

JAMMU, Sept 1: Jammu and Kashmir Gatka team secured 7 bronze medals in the 2nd National Gatka Championship, organised by Gatka Federation of India (GFI) at Guru Nanak Institute of Management, Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi recently.
Seven players from J&K participated in this Championship in under 19, 22 and 25 age group categories and won 7 bronze medals.
In under-19 category, Ranjit Singh, Jasmeet Singh and Mandeep Singh won bronze medal, whereas in under-22 category, Lovepreet Singh, Gurvinder Singh and Rupinder Singh won bronze medal and in under-25 category, Yashpreet Singh won bronze medal.
President, Jammu and Kashmir Gatka Association, Ravinder Singh accompanied the team as Manager. The team was sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Gatka Association.
Meanwhile, Ranjit College of Education in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Gatka association affiliated to GFI awarded the medals winners. Manmeet Singh Amn, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Gatka Association, HS Gill, Vice-Chairman, president Ravinder Singh, Convener, Khalsa Aid Jammu and Kashmir, Gagandeep Singh, college staff and students were also present on the occasion.
In the end, vote of thanks was presented by Prof Anjali Singh.
