JAMMU, Dec 22: The ongoing 37th Sub-Junior National Softball Championship saw the Jammu and Kashmir boys’ and girls’ teams put on stellar performances, securing their spots in the semi-finals at MA Stadium.
In the boys’ section, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Punjab made it to the semi finals. J&K will face Punjab, while Andhra Pradesh will take on Madhya Pradesh in the upcoming matches. J&K qualified for the semis after defeating Kerala by 9-2 and Telangana by 9-1.
In the girls’ section, the semi finals will feature J&K, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. Though J&K lost to Rajasthan by 5-3, they played well in earlier rounds.
Other standout performances in the boys’ section came from Andhra Pradesh, which defeated J&K 4-2, and Madhya Pradesh, which triumphed over Punjab 5-0. In the girls’ section, Telangana crushed Kerala 10-1, and Punjab defeated Rajasthan 7-3.
The championship continues under the supervision of the J&K Sports Council and J&K Softball Association, with both boys’ and girls’ teams showcasing remarkable skill and determination.
