J&K thrashes BPCL by 109 runs

JAMMU, Sept 18: Jammu and Kashmir registered a resounding 109-run victory over Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in the 29th All India JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament 2024 at PCA Mullapur today.
Batting first after winning the toss, J&K posted a competitive 243/8 in 50 overs, thanks to an unbeaten century by Nasir Lone, who scored a brilliant 102 off 88 balls with 6 sixes and 6 fours. Nasir’s 83-run partnership with Anshul Pandita (42 off 69) anchored the innings. Other contributors included Suryansh Raina (30) and skipper Shubham Singh Pundir (18). For BPCL, Sandeep Sharma took 3 wickets, while Paras Jaidka and Bhavya Attrey bagged 2 wickets each.
In response, BPCL collapsed for 134 runs, with Waseem Bashir (4/34), Irfan Ul Haq (3/36), and Nasir Lone dismantling their batting order. Abhinab Saha and Sahil Jadhav top-scored with 26 runs each for BPCL. Despite the win, J&K is out of the tournament as PCA Colts have advanced to the knockout stage from their group.
J&K’s team was led by Head Coach Punit Bisht, with Kavaljeet Singh as Batting Coach, Sameer as Bowling Coach, and Guru Pratap Singh as Trainer.
