JAMMU, Oct 13: Jammu & Kashmir Tug-of-War Association has left to participate in the 29th Junior Men National and 18th Sub-Junior Men National Tug-of-War Championship to be held from October 15 to 19 at Sports Ground of Dr Kailash Nath Katju Inter College, Feedganj, Allahabad, UP.
The officials, who selected the teams were Hardeep Singh Anand, President of the Association, Jodh Singh Isher, Secretary, J&K Tug-of-War Association, Jasvir Singh, Joint Secretary, Deepjot Singh Anand and Ajay Peshin under the supervision of J&K State Sports Council screening committee members at Green Field, Gandhi Nagar, today.
The players selected for the 29th Junior Men National under 540 weight category include Ikjot Singh, Wasim Akram, Hakeem, Gagandeep, Tanveer, manpreet, Karanjot, Sachin and Naveed, while the players selected for the 29th Junior Men National under 560 kg weight category Savneet, Loveleen, Wasim, Manish, Sourab, Jai pal, Rahul, Mandeep and Sahil Kumar.
The players selected for the 18th Sub Junior Men National under 500 kg weight category include Rajwali, Aditya, Amandeep, Prabhpreet, Avreet, Mandeep, Hyder, Abdul Wahid and Basharath, while the players selected for the 18th Sub Junior Men National under 480 kg weight category include Harmohit Singh, Taranjot, Ajay, Harsimran, Sanamdeep, Mandeep, Mohammad Asid, Kanavjot and Mohammad Fareed.
Gorav Dubey, Sourabh Kumar, Shubham Gupta and Gourab Sharma will accompany the team as coaches and managers.
Hardeep Singh Anand, President of the Association distributed kits among the players before departure, which has been sponsored by M/s Trans Asia Hotels Private Limited Unit ‘Hotel Asia’ Jammu.
