JAMMU, Apr 5: J&K UT level Deadlift Championship unequipped and equipped in sub junior, junior, senior and master (men and women) concluded at Muscle Factory Gym Upper Roop Nagar, here today.
The championship was organized by All J&K UT Powerlifting Association, wherein Harshul Sharma, Umesh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Sumit Thakyal, Raj Arryan, Adnan Choudhary, Soruav Kumar, Sapna Jain, Rakhi Grover, Shivani Langeh and Taniya Sharma were emerged as best lifters of the championship in different categories.
Advocate Arun Dev Singh Jamwal (State President Yuva Morcha BJP) was the chief guest on the occasion, while Narinder Gupta and Arush Gupta were the special guests who distributed prizes among the winner and runner up players.
In this championship, Harshul Sharma, Souva Kumar and Sumit Thakyal won best lifter prizes in sub junior, junior and senior unequipped men categories respectively, while Harshul Sharma, Adnan Choudhary and Aryan won best lifter award in sub junior, junior & senior equipped men categories respectively.
Umesh Raina and Rohit Sharma won the best lifter trophy in master-I men category. Taniya Sharma, Sapna Jain, Shivani Langeh and Rakhi Grover emerged best lifters in sub junior, junior and senior women category, respectively.
Around 150 players from various districts of J & K participated in the championship. Sumit Thakyal broke the previous record and set a new record by lifting187.5Kg in the 53 kg category.
The officials of the Association organized championship in well mannered under the rule and regulation of Power Lifting India, namely Ajay Sharma, Rahul Sawhney, Gulzar Singh, Vikram Singh, Adil Ashraf Khan, Feroz Shah, Shabeel Ahmed, Riyaz Ahmed Butt, Sanjeev Singh, Vinay Sharma and others.
In women category, the medals winners were Gungun, Taniya, Sapna Jain, Nishta Singh, Diksha Kapoor, Vanshika Verma, Saneha Sharma, Malvika Mohan, Konika, Ritika, Rakhi Grover, Shivan Langeh, Swati Sharma, Priya Rana, Kashak Gupta, Anchal and Yash Paul Kour.
In men category, Sourav Kumar, Sumit Thakyal, Raj Aryan, Priyank Bandral, Sant Kumar, Ankush Sharma, Harshul Sharma, Pranav Thakur, Sahil Sharma, Ritik Singh, Abhishek Kesar, Abit Kumar, Sadiq Sadar Malik, Harsh Dranch, Harshvardan Singh, ABhay Bhardwaj, Rajnesh Singh, Asif Ahmed, Pyush Doodha, Adnan Choudhary, Mumin Dar, Kirpal Singh, Kunal Verma, Rohit Sharma, Sashwat Sambyal, Soyab Ahmed, Gurjot Singh, Amit Bhalla, Anurga Mangotra, Piyush, Sourab Bali, Vishal Singh, Vishal Sharma, Umesh Raina, Aman Dev Singh and Manpreet Singh won Gold medals.
The silver medals were secured by Vasu Kumar, Sumit Lakotra, Tushar Ranjan, Sidharth Dogra, Ankit Singh, Tenzin, Nitin Sharma, Ranbir Singh, Keshav Pagotra, Piyush Bhat, Dhruv Sharma, Harshvardan Singh, Koshal Kumar, Satyam Choudhary, Mohit Sharma, Sarthak Dubey, Harsh Sharma, Chetanya Mahajan, Krish Sharma, Parteek Yadav, Bharat Kanojia, Lakshdev, Vikas Dharanch and Salman Alam.
