JAMMU, Apr 3: Fifth J&K Union Territory level Men and Women Powerlifting and Benchpress Championship, organized by Powerlifting Association of J&K, concluded at Bhagwati Nagar, here today.
In the championship more than 50 players under different weight categories including men and women participated. The medals and certificates were distributed among the winners by DySP Akshay Khajuria who was the chief guest of the closing ceremony, while guests of honour were Sheikh Riyaz Ahmed, Ishu Choudhary, Anil Kumar Kapahi and Sanjay Gupta.
Preet Dutta, Vijay Choudhary, Amarjeet Singh, Karamjeet Singh, Rajat Solan, Rohit Singh, Harshit Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Sanchit Kalotra, Sameer Kalotra, Rakesh, Vijay Dabgotra, Vipul Gupta and Shalinder Dogra were among the officials of the championship, while Atul Gupta and Vishal Sharma were the media secretaries.
The vote of thanks was presented by Kuldeep Singh (Working President) and Rakesh Kumar (General Secretary J&K).
Bhawana Khurana was declared as strong women in 62kg, and she lifted 260 kg, while Mantu Gupta was announced as strong man of the championship, who lifted 432.5kg in 66kg category.
